Spotlight on Jason Wang

Jason is the ultimate all-rounder, with strengths in both maths/science and the arts. Jason achieved an ATAR of 98.05 studying Extension 1 and 2 Maths, Advanced English, Chemistry, French, Information Processes and Technology, and Music Extension – with his piano performance in Music nominated for NESA’s Encore showcase.

What a significant achievement this is, particularly as Jason, after migrating from China with his family, started his schooling in Australia in Year 5, having limited exposure to the English language before that.

This month, Jason began his tertiary journey, heading off to UNSW to study a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) and Media Arts.

We are extremely proud of Jason’s achievements, as we are of the whole 2020 cohort, who embodied our motto of ‘To strive is to achieve’ in the face of adversity last year.

Good luck to Jason, and to all of our Port alumni as they head off to university, TAFE and the workplace in 2021.
