Special education

Students at Port Hacking High School are enrolled in Special Education classes following The Department of Education’s panel placement and a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, or as a result of having a determined intellectual disability.

Educational Pathways

Educational pathways and programs for students include access to regular stage/age outcomes, the Years 7-12 Life Skills Curriculum, and partial integration into mainstream classes. Our dedicated faculty provides individualised educational support to enhance student learning outcomes, and wellbeing, across Key Learning Areas including English, Maths, Science and Technology, HSIE, Technical and Applied Science, Design and Technology, Creative and Performing Arts, Languages and PDHPE. Success is driven by adjustments to teaching and learning, continuous monitoring of student progress and achievements, and close collaboration with parents/carers, health care agencies, and educational services.
