Parents, carers and the community

As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.

The Parents and Citizens’ Association meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Library.  All parents are invited to attend.

Guest speakers are invited to address parents, and there is a continuing policy to keep informed on educational practices which benefit the experience of students within the school.

The annual subscription for each student is $50.00.  This is combined with and to be paid at the same time as the school contribution.

The P&C is extremely active at Port Hacking High School and contributes generously towards initiatives and capital works at the school. Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month during school terms, at 7pm in the school library.

The first meeting for 2021 will be held on Monday, 1st of March.

SUBSEQUENT DATES ARE;

  • Monday 3rd of May
  • Monday 7th of June
  • Monday 2nd of August
  • Monday 6th of September
  • Monday 1st of November

Fundraising

The P&C raises money through several fundraising initiatives, including Ritchies supermarket community rewards.  Since 2015, over $128,000 has been raised for Port Hacking High School.

SCHOOL BUILDING FUND

Port Hacking High School P&C is very excited to launch our School Building Fund, where all donations over $2 are tax deductible.  Our target is to raise $25,000 over 3 years and the Building Fund’s primary focus is to raise funds to install solar panels and progressively air-condition the school.  All donations greater than $2 are tax deductible and can be made at any time throughout the year. Building the future with spirit is about contributing what you can – gifts large and small are all received with thanks.  To donate to the Building Fund, please complete the form below and return to the office. Please note that payments are not processed by the school office staff; they are passed directly to the P&C.

Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

Visit the department’s translated documents section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.
