Years 7 and 8 Scripture

At Port Hacking High School, students in Years 7 and 8 are offered SRE studies for one period per week for a total of two terms.  After the two terms are completed, the students return to normal lessons.

On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return (attach).  After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child’s enrolment in SRE should be given in writing.

There are three SRE providers offered at Port Hacking High School, Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox.  These approved providers are:

During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be attending normal lessons.

Electives

Students in Years 7 and 8 follow a standardised, compulsory program of study. During Years 9 and 10 they are able to choose three new subjects from a range of elective courses. Currently, the school offers the following courses, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Languages, Commerce, Design & Technology, Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Graphics Technology, Industrial Technology – Wood, Multimedia, Metal and Electronics, Information Software & Technology, PD/Health/PE, Physical Activity & Sports Studies, Marine and Aquaculture Technology, Photography and Digital Media, Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance and Child Studies.
