Mathematics
The mathematics faculty at Port Hacking High School is a team of dedicated, capable and adaptable educational professionals. We strive to engage all students and develop their passion and appreciation for mathematics through innovative learning, collaboration, applications to real-world scenarios and tailoring learning to each students individual learning needs and interests.
By studying mathematics, students learn to work mathematically, providing them with the opportunity to develop increasingly sophisticated and refined mathematical understanding, fluency, communication, reasoning, analytical thought and problem-solving skills. These capabilities enable students to respond to familiar and unfamiliar situations by employing strategies to make informed decisions and solve problems relevant to their present and future needs.
