Careers
Career Education at Port Hacking High School helps students recognise strengths, set goals, and confidently transition to further study, training, or work. Based on the Australian Blueprint for Career Development (PDF 2.6MB) the program builds key competencies for life, learning, and work.
Students gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed future decisions, bridging school and career opportunities.
- Years 7–10 engage in sessions focused on self-awareness, motivation, and goal-setting, including resume writing, mock interviews, job expos, excursions, and work experience.
- Years 11–12 receive career mentoring, workshops, expos, and info sessions for university, TAFE, scholarships, and career pathways. They may undertake VET courses, School-Based Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and structured work placements.
Resources include the careers website porthackingcareers.com, which hosts newsletters and career information, as well as the Careers Advisor, Ms Julie Savage, who is available for parent appointments and student guidance.
